Individual Psychotherapy: I practice depth psychotherapy drawing upon psychodynamic, cognitive, interpersonal, existential and humanistic approaches. In this process you will develop greater self-awareness and connection to your feelings. By understanding past experiences and how they may influence your present life and behaviors, and by learning to experience, tolerate and manage feelings that present events create within you, you can explore and create different choices that lead to new outcomes. If all goes well, through therapy you can attain greater acceptance and compassion for yourself, a sense of meaning and purpose in your life and work, and more positive and satisfying relationships with others.

Group Psychotherapy: Group therapy can provide a powerful, transformative, and healing experience. It is hard work that requires courage, commitment and perhaps a sense of adventure. Initially what can be most apparent is how different you feel from other group members. But as the work progresses, threads of common humanity emerge, and the possibility of connection at a deeper than surface level arises. You may find that someone else’s story or struggle touches you, pointing to a place in yourself that may need attention. This happens as members of the group develop a deeper level of trust and interconnectedness with each other. The personal tasks that are required to achieve trust in a group usually mirror your own struggles in your own life. There is great opportunity for personal growth and awareness as the ways you habitually interact with others are examined, and opportunities to try out new ways of being and interacting emerge in the context of the group conversation, in the safety of the therapy setting. As you discover and become more confident in your own authentic voice, you begin to notice changes not only within the group therapy experience, but in the rest of your life as well.

Consultation: In consultation work, I use a focused, coaching style to help you explore, manage and resolve a very specific issue. This can involve as few as one or two sessions, or as many as six to twelve sessions, depending on the issue explored.
